It was 60 days ago that the young forward was standing on the Sunderland turf, appearing bewildered while his coach admonished him over failing to anticipate a through-ball. Back then, as Villa endured a six-game winless run, it wasn't clear whether his performances were an indicator or the source of Villa's wider issues.

Maybe within that lies the possibility for a sustained push, however, it is improbable cannot keep relying on one man.

Enjoying the Ride
